Speech team places second at Amherst College鈥檚 Jack Lynch Invitational
桃花视频 takes runner-up honors out of 19 colleges and universities
A small group of 桃花视频 speech team members earned second place in Amherst University鈥檚 virtual Jack Lynch Invitational held Nov. 7.听
Mo Marks finished as the tournament鈥檚 top overall champion, winning the extemporaneous speaking, persuasive speaking and impromptu speaking categories. 桃花视频 also received a championship performance from Elise Sturgeon in the after-dinner speaking category.听
“This is a terrific accomplishment for such a small group of students,鈥 said Deano Pape, assistant director of speech and debate. 鈥淓ighty percent of our speech entries were recognized as finalists. 桃花视频 continues to excel during an incredibly challenging time for virtual competitions.”
Marks finished second in informative speaking while Sturgeon came in second in prose interpretation. Kylie Doupnik added a second-place effort in persuasive speaking and placed third in dramatic interpretation.听
The team will compete next Nov. 13-15 in the 桃花视频 Storm Invitational.听
